"Broken pieces become a beautiful portrait and you are beautiful."
Mission
Our mission is to provide education, resources, and financial assistance to those in the community that have experienced domestic violence. We intend to educate the community on domestic violence through the eyes of survivors. In addition to education, we will connect survivors to resources as well as offer financial aid to those leaving a crisis situation.
Vision
Shattered But Not Broken aspires to promote social change through the eyes of a survivor. By empowering, educating, and encouraging survivors, it is our hope that they will regain their confidence and become self-sufficient. By collaborating with the community, we will combat domestic violence together.

From The Heart of
Shonnetta Green
My name is Shonnetta Green, Founder of Shattered But Not Broken and I am a survivor of domestic violence. As a survivor and domestic violence activist, I know firsthand how difficult it is to leave an abusive situation and start over. I know what it is like to be broken and brought to your lowest point. I also know how long it takes to mend a shattered heart.
It is my heart’s desire to see those affected by domestic violence empowered. I want them to know that there is sunshine after the pain and they can live to see another day. Be reminded that though you may be shattered, you are not broken. Broken pieces can and will become a beautiful portrait.

After seven and a half years of healing from my tragedy, and being re-victimized by the system, I finally began walking in my calling. I felt that it was time for my voice to be heard. Since then, I have been able to speak at the State Capital on House and Senate Bills that would allow survivors of domestic violence to receive unemployment benefits when leaving a domestic violence situation. In addition, I have worked with various committees and organizations, conducted training, held public forums, radio interviews, and written newspaper articles, all to bring awareness to Domestic Violence. I also attended numerous domestic violence training, completed police training, etc. All of these things were done by my faith in God. I believe that He has tasked me to let victims know that they are victorious and that there is sunshine after the pain.
